West Long Branch was officially formed from Eatontown in 1908. A community with roots in farming, the country estates of Shadow Lawn and the Guggenheim family were built here in the late 1800s. West Long Branch is the home of Monmouth University and is mostly, now, a residential community as well as a beloved resort.
